Tom grew up outside of Cleveland, Ohio and earned his B.A. in English and Spanish from John Carroll University. After serving for two years as a Jesuit Volunteer in Milwaukee, he traveled east to Connecticut, where he received his M.A. in English from Trinity College. Tom began his career in education 25 years ago, and has spent the past 22 of them teaching English at East Catholic High School in Manchester. He also served as department chair for seven of those years. And while his experience in the classroom has been almost entirely with high schoolers, he is the proud father of two young women who were once very much middle school students!

After a quarter century in his own classroom, Tom says he is thrilled to broaden his horizons, adding, “I can’t wait to meet the community and begin to contribute in a small way to the excellence at St. Timothy Middle School."
