Leandra Manos comes to St. Timothy Middle School from St. John's Prep (Danvers, MA) in her other field of expertise: Aquatics Management and Coaching! She has a B.A. from the University of Vermont where she studied Sociology, Biology, and Athletic Training, and she studied abroad in Sydney, Australia for 7 exciting months in her junior year. She later went on to teach mathematics in grades 6-12 in Worcester, MA while also coaching swim club, as well as high school and collegiate levels. After balancing this schedule for a few years, Leandra earned her M.Ed. from Springfield College where she majored in Psychology with a concentration in School Guidance & Counseling. She has worked as a certified school counselor in both CT and MA, at Bloomfield High School and David Prouty High School respectively. Additionally, Leandra worked as an independent academic advisor for Amer*I*Can Educational Consulting Services. In her spare time, Leandra enjoys writing, traveling, hiking, tennis, reading, gardening, all water sports, taking care of animals, and lifelong learning. She recently completed a graduate certificate program in Health Care Administration from UCONN, and hopes to someday complete classes in Sustainable Agriculture and Business...after writing a memoir!
Leandra is excited to join the tight knit STMS community as a guidance counselor, math teacher, and After Care proctor because she loves being of service, making a difference, and learning from her students just the same. "I'm excited to be joining a community that values personal and spiritual growth, student and staff involvement, civic engagement, community relations, and formal education just as much as I do."
