Eileen Gavigan Carroll is a married mother of 3 teenagers who has lived in Avon, CT, for the last 16 years. Originally from Brooklyn, NY, she grew up in Staten Island, NY, and attended Catholic schools from kindergarten through college. Eileen received a B.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and an M. Ed. from The George Washington University. Between earning these degrees, Eileen spent a year in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps working as a house parent in a crisis nursery in Spokane, WA. Eileen taught Social Studies in middle school in Fairfax County, VA, before marrying and moving to Chicago for 6 years. There she worked in educational publishing, and began her family. Since arriving in CT 16 years ago, she has raised her children, worked 10 years as a substitute teacher, volunteered in PTOs and charitable boards, and pursued interests varying from knitting to strength training. She loves reading, cooking, traveling, and coffee! Eileen is excited to be a part of the St. Timothy Middle School family because her heart is in the classroom and she wants “to inspire young people to use knowledge, creativity and kindness to create the future in which they want to live.”
