Dr. Stephen Balkun, Principal, Honor's Algebra Teacher is a 1974 Northwest Catholic graduate, who holds a B.S. in Mathematics from Fairfield University. He also holds a B.S. in Human Biology, and a D.C. degree from National College of Chiropractic. He retired from private practice in 1997. Dr. Balkun has taught Anatomy & Physiology at the post graduate level, C.C.D. to middle school students, and has been a workshop presenter at the Holy Family Retreat Center. He played basketball at Northwest and Fairfield and was drafted in 1978 by the Boston Celtics. He coached basketball at STMS and has led the wood carving club and created commissioned works for the school. Steve and his wife are the parents of three boys, two of whom graduated from St. Timothy Middle School.
